Everyone wants to enjoy the perfect cup of coffee at home, especially when we are spending more and more time there. And following on from one of our most viewed blogs, I have put together a few ideas of tasty alternatives to try.
This visual delight is prepared by taking equal parts of instant coffee, sugar and hot water, which are vigorously whipped together to create a stiff-peaked foam. This is then dolloped onto a glass of hot or cold milk.
Classic Irish’s are made with just four ingredients: hot coffee, Irish whiskey, sugar and whipped cream. Brew your favourite coffee. Add a shot of whiskey to a glass, sweeten with brown sugar – alternatively maple syrup can add a special twist! Gently stir. Fill the mug with coffee and add pourable whipped cream – the right consistency ensures that the cream floats. For a richer / creamier alternative, substitute the whiskey for Irish Cream. Yummm!
Super-easy to prepare with minimal ingredients, simply heat your milk, stir in ½ teaspoon cinnamon, 1½ teaspoons ginger and ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, and sugar to taste. Froth or whisk together. Brew a shot of espresso. Pour the milk mixture into a mug and top with espresso. Easy -peasy!
Now this is nice…make your own coffee creamer at home! Whisk together 1¾ cup milk, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Heat in a saucepan over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Cool, and then store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days. Add to your hot brew as a deliciously decadent coffee creamer.
I am loving these new recipes. Try them for yourself, you won’t be sorry.
